I got to go see Monica after racing yesterday, I have to say PJ has done a superb job, Monica looks like she is going fast even when she is just sitting on the living room carpet, hopefully when she hits the water the looks will translate into speed.
After our experience building carbon bearing sets for the Wee Nips we decided to transfer this knowledge onto the sixes, the results are as follows.

Avid readers (are there any?) of this blog might remember way back when I made the plug for the keel bulb, well here are the first two halves out of the sand box.
I would caution against trying this at home, especially not in the kitchen unless like me you have a particularly understanding wife or she happens to be away in the USA! It's a big boy! This one is really a trial to see if we need to adjust the plug, once we have things ready we will try it on for size and see where the Girls sit on their waterlines. Mike - you see all those heart shaped lumps of lead (ingots) in the background, they are all from that lump you gave me way back when, as is one half of the keel bulb! It only took an hour to get it to melt! As you can see the weather was so nice the Girls decided to spend some time in the Garden sunbathing, they both have adjustable mast steps fitted and their lifting plates and bolts are ready for action too. Monica is all decked out in white whilst Gabriela prefers the black carbon look.
Whilst Mrs PJ is away the main man has taken the opportunity to get the "Cheeky Girls" together on the living room carpet!
As you can see Gabriela is in a slightly greater state of disarray than Monica who has at least managed to keep her top on. |
