The NoR and entry is available on the MYA website under the 'Events' tab as usual. This is also the third of the thee race days to count towards the '2002 Trophy,' following on from events at Norwich and Harwich& Dovercourt.

A reminder that round 4 of the Champion Skipper series is taking place at Bournville this coming Sunday. Usual start time - briefing at 9.45am, racing by 10.00am. No need to enter, just turn up on the day.

Championship racing begins tomorrow, Tuesday 14th September at the Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo, which is up in the north-west coast of Spain on the Atlantic coast. There are 31 entries split roughly 50:50 between the 'classic' and open ('modern') fleets. Racing concludes on Saturday the 18th. The fleet makes for a spectacular sight, all those six metre lines and black sails! Enjoy. It has come to my notice that if you enter the National 6M championship via the MYA On Line Entry then Payment for the Event is Paid Directly to the MYA, then Norwich MYC have to claim the Entry Fee Back. As Event Organiser this is not what I want. Six entries have been indicated directly to the organisers already and we look forward to more coming in before Sunday 22nd August. A reminder that the next open event for Six Metres, the Northern District Championship will be taking place at Fleetwood on 22nd August 2021.
This event is open to all. The Champion will be the leading sailor who is a member of a Northern District club. Those that do not have a boat measurement certificate at present may take part but will not be eligible to win the Championship. The NOR and entry form will be available shortly on the MYA Racing Calendar tab on the MYA website and is the preferred method of entry, or directly to Shaun Holbeche ( see this site for email address). If you are interested in adding a moulded Rococo to your fleet then you will be interested to hear that the former CM Yachts Rococo mould has now become available to the 6m Class.
Initially the mould will be used by Geoff Raygarda to make some hulls for a few friends. After that it has been agreed that the mould will reside with experienced builder Martin Dovey of the Bournville club. As more details become available we will let you know. The upcoming Tomlinson trophy event at Harwich and Dovercourt is already gaining interest from Six Metre owners.
Six entries have been received so far by the organisers from skippers far and wide. Further support is anticipated from the home club and more are welcome from the Six Metre fleet in support of a venue with a great water, wind and welcome. Get your entry in soon ! They're coming thick and fast. Another open meeting coming up, this time at Harwich and Dovercourt MBC with the chance to win the blue glass vase. The club enjoys an attractive purpose built model yachting lake on the seafront. Last time the event was run we had a heatwave and the sailing was most enjoyable.
