The great and good of the Eastern District have studied the moon, the stars and their pocket watches and decided to make the 4th of November the new date for sailing the Sextant Trophy which will also encompass round three of the 2002 Trophy.
So make a note in your diaries and we look forward to a weed free and potentially lively day of sailing at the Lee Valley waters.

Although I'm sure most of us have been enjoying the lovely weather we have been having it has also provided excellent conditions for the growth of our old friend, WEED.
Lee Valley has quickly developed a weed problem which means that the Sextant Trophy has therefore been POSTPONED until later in the year when the weed will have died back. This is anticipated to be in October, when it is hoped that the event will take place and will be publicised again. A decision regarding the way forward for the 2002 Trophy will also be decided shortly. A report and results can now be found on this site in the Competitions/Results section . Competitors were treated to great winds and weather and close racing. See who got in front.
Just a reminder that the Sextant Trophy, the third and final round of the 2002 Trophy for 2018 takes place at Lee Valley MYC on the 22nd of July. The club's water is located in the Lee Valley Country Park at Clayton Hill, Nazeing, on the Herts/Essex borders. Enter Postcode EN9 2HX into your Satnav. This should take you to Nazeing Road from which you will find the entrance to Clayton Hill Country Park which lies to the South of Nazeing Road. First race starts at 9:45am and no race will start later than 4:00pm. Don't forget your wellies for launching! |
