Your fleet captain, Mike Ewart is looking ahead to 2019 and the National Championship. He is looking for suggestions and offers to host the 2019 Nationals, primarily in the second half of the year when the general fixture list for all classes tends to be less congested. Hopefully it will mean avoiding the potential weed problems that some venues can suffer from too. The subject is being aired on the forum. You can also contact Mike directly by email here. Right click and copy the email address, then paste into your chosen email vehicle. A report and full results of last weekend's Shearwater Trophy held at Broads RYC, the first in the 2002T series, can now be found in the Competitions and Results section courtesy of Pete Sutton.
Held in warm and sunny but testing conditions it provided a very pleasant but competitive outing for a Six Metre fleet with a variety of designs from those biased towards lighter conditions, to all-rounders, through to those that enjoy a brisk breeze most. See who and what came out on top. Six Metre Sailing has a new boy at the rudder. Shaun Holbeche has volunteered to take over webmaster duties from Mike Ewart so that he can concentrate on his role as Fleet Captain.
Please feel free to contribute any race reports or articles relating to 6 Metres. All will be gladly received by Shaun. Please see the contacts page for an email address. It's your site so let's make it the 'go to' place for all things relating to this much under-estimated class of model yacht. Our aim is to promote the class, show how enjoyable they are to own and sail, see what a good racing experience they provide and where you can take part in it. |
